Over the last few years the Gondwana Conservation Foundation (GCF) has brought learners to Gondwana Game Reserve for environmental learning days.
In the last 5 years we have personally engaged with over 2000 primary school learners from our local community. The GCFs environmental education program focuses on teaching learners more about conservation and how they can implement conservation principals at home.
While the learners are on Gondwana, we have the opportunity to show them learners functioning life cycles in nature and At the same time, we teach them about the importance of conserving our precious Fynbos and wildlife. The GCF has collaborated with the local schools to ensure that the work we do with the learners on Gondwana supplements the Grade 6 & 7 Life Sciences school curriculum.
We also believe that our communities are the conservationists of the future, and we encourage the learners to explore the different work types on the reserve in the fields of conservation and hospitality in order to broaden their scope of opportunities in the future.
