Kwena Lodge

A distinctive and culturally immersive experience

Nestled into the spectacular landscape, the lodge and accommodation offer 180-degree views of the
surrounding mountainous landscape and passing wildlife

Kwena Lodge’s unique layout, design, and décor draw inspiration from the nomadic lifestyle of the San people who inhabited this area thousands of years ago, providing guests with a distinctive and culturally immersive experience.

The lodge features expansive facilities, including an open-plan lounge and bar area. Dining options abound in various beautiful indoor and outdoor settings, with two elegant dining rooms situated around fireplaces beneath thatched roofs, and an alfresco dining experience on our striking dining deck overlooking two waterholes. In addition to these amenities, the lodge boasts an infinity pool surrounded by private pool lounging areas, an outdoor pool-side bar with comfortable seating and lounge spaces, a curated curio shop, and a secluded tented bush spa. Guest Feedback

“Where do I start with this property? Exquisite five star experience that my husband and I will never forget! First of all, the rooms are out of this world. We stayed in one of the Kwena Suites at Gondwana’s Kwena Lodge as part of our Garden route trip. The room was so cozy and beautiful, but the bathrobes provided deserve a special mention – my husband and I so looked forward to getting into those each time we stepped into our room! They are sooo warm and fluffy, haha!

This place surpassed all my expectations and wildest of dreams. We looked forward to every meal here – even though we are vegetarians, we had many food options to consider. The meals were just spot on, be it taste wise or plating. Really really beautiful. I never knew tofu could be done in so may delicious ways! The restaurants are also very well done, with friendly and kind staff who made us feel very safe. This property is one where animals roam freely with no fences around the lodges, so safety is a priority.
The main highlight of our stay was the safari. Those chilly morning and afternoon rides were so worth it when we got to see two lionesses and one lion walk past our jeep! I have no words to explain how memorable the experience was for us. We have been to quite a few safaris in the past, but this one by far was the best. Our safari guide, Felix was very good, and went to every length in order to spot a big cat for us.

Experience of a lifetime at Gondwana. Would definitely visit again.”
